Where coffee grows above the clouds, and families have farmed for four generations.

La Esperanza sits at 1,800 metres in the Montecillos mountain range of Honduras's Intibucá department, one of the country's most celebrated specialty coffee territories. The cooperative that carries its name was founded in 1987 by twelve families who refused to sell their harvest to commodity brokers at floor price. Today it numbers 340 members, most of them women.

The high altitude, volcanic soil, and the region's distinctive microclimate (cool nights, warm days, regular afternoon mist) produce a coffee that is bright, complex, and deeply aromatic. The honey processing method used here, where cherry pulp is partially left on the bean to dry in the mountain sun, amplifies the natural fruit sugars and gives this lot its characteristic stone fruit sweetness.

Maison Alti sources exclusively from the La Esperanza cooperative through a direct, transparent agreement. Every lot is traceable to individual farm plots. The cooperative receives a premium above the C-market price, the EUDR documentation is managed entirely on our side, and the roaster receives a coffee with full provenance, from GPS coordinates to shipping container number.

Peach & ApricotJasmineBrown SugarHazelnutLong Finish

A well-structured cup with medium body and vibrant acidity that softens to a smooth, sweet finish. Excellent at filter (V60, Chemex, batch brew) and performs beautifully as a light-roast espresso. The honey process contributes jammy sweetness without heaviness.
